Israeli forces assassinated two Palestinian men on Friday after besieging and bombing a home in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

The Shireen Observatory published the names of the two slain young men, one of whom was identified as Nour Abdel Karim Mohammed Al-Baytawi, 34, the commander of the Jenin Battalion, in addition to the young man, Hakmat Shawqi Muhammad Abd Al-Nabi, 42.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews recovered the partial remains of an unidentified citizen from a home bombed by the army in Nablus city.

The PRCS added that occupation forces initially blocked their ambulances from approaching the home and stated that the army confiscated the remainder of the body of the slain man.

Media sources reported that Israeli forces invaded the city of Nablus on Friday afternoon, surrounded a house on Al-May Street, and fired several “Energa” anti-tank grenades at the home, before additional military reinforcements arrived.

According to the Times of Israel, soldiers killed Nour Al-Baytawi, 34, whom they claim was a “senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative” who was purportedly “planning imminent terror attacks”.

In a joint statement, the Israeli army, the Shin Bet and the so-called Yamam “Counter-Terrorism Unit”, said that their agents surrounded a house in Nablus where Al-Baytawi and Al-Nabi were hiding, assassinating them both using an “explosive-laden drone”.

The statement added that Al-Baytawi had “advanced significant terror activity, and was involved in guiding, financing and carrying out terror attacks against Israeli citizens and security forces”.

The army said that its forces had been pursuing Al-Baytawi for several months, describing him as “the number one most wanted” resistance member in the West Bank.

In related news, the young man, Rami Sami Walid Al-Kakhn (30 years old) was killed by occupation forces on Thursday, and his body was confiscated during a military invasion into the Old City of Nablus.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces have killed 138 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 24 children and 5 women, according to the Shireen Observatory.

Occupation forces have killed 57 Palestinians in Jenin, 24 in Nablus, 20 in Tubas, 14 in Tulkarem, 6 in Hebron, 5 in Bethlehem, 4 in Ramallah, 3 in Qalqilia, 3 in Jerusalem, and 2 in Salfit.

In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 52,787, including women and children, while at least 119,349 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
