On Tuesday morning, one Palestinian fisherman was shot after Israeli navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats near the shore of Gaza City.
The Palestinian Fishermen Syndicate said the navy fired many rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs at Palestinian fishing boats in the Sudaniyya Sea area, northwest of Gaza City.
The syndicate added that one fisherman was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet and was moved to the Shifa Medical Center in Gaza.
The navy also used water cannons and high-velocity gas bombs, forcing the fishermen to leave without being able to fish to provide for their families.
The attacks are part of constant Israeli violations against the Palestinians, especially the fishermen, farmers, shepherds, and workers in the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip, and resulted in dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to severe property damage and the confiscation of many boats after abducting the fishermen.
In March of 2021, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said Israeli mines were responsible for an explosion that killed three fishermen.
