On Friday, Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly nonviolent procession against ongoing violations and illegal colonialist activities in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem and abducted ten.
The protest, held every Friday for the past fourteen years, was attended by Palestinians, Israeli, and international peace activists.
The protesters carried Palestinian flags and posters denouncing the illegal Israeli colonialist activities and the displacement of the Palestinians from their homes and lands.
Once they reached the land of the local Salem family in the western area of Sheikh Jarrah, the soldiers started assaulting and forcing them away.
The police assaulted and pushed many nonviolent protesters and abducted ten while dozens of colonizers gathered in the area and chanted to displace the Palestinians from their homes and lands.
It is worth mentioning that the family has been denied access to its land since last year after the fanatic “Israeli National Security Minister,” Itamar Bin-Gvir, installed a tent to use as his office in a show of support to the colonizers and the illegal colonialist activities.
In the year 2020, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that Israeli colonialist groups filed lawsuits with Israeli courts to displace more than 218 Palestinian families (970 persons, including at least 424 children), in occupied East Jerusalem, including 75 families in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
