Israeli occupation forces, Saturday, shot and injured two Palestinian demonstrators at the weekly march in Kufur Qaddoum village, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
Local sources said that Israeli soldiers opened fire with tear-gas canisters and rubber-coated steel rounds towards civilians, striking a minor with a tear-gas canister in the back.
Sources added that Israeli troops shot another young man with a rubber-coated round in the head, while many other protestors suffocated on tear-gas. No further information about the conditions of the injured were available at the time of writing this report.
For several years, local Palestinian civilians have organized gatherings on Fridays and Saturdays to demand the Israeli authorities reopen the main road which leads east to Nablus. The locals express their objection to the existing and expansion of illegal colonies built on Palestinian lands.
The main road of Kufur Qaddoum was closed off to Palestinians in 2003, forcing them to seek alternative routes, meanwhile illegal Israeli settlers have exclusive access.
