Israeli troops kill Palestinian man at a West Bank checkpoint, meanwhile a settler hit a child with his car. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.

The army shot and killed, on Tuesday evening, a Palestinian man at a military roadblock, west of Tulkarem, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. Palestinian medical sources said the man has been identified as Nidal Mahdawi, 44, from Shweika area, north of Tulkarem.

The Israeli army claimed that the Palestinian was trying to cross roadblock #104, and that he “attempted to stab the soldiers, before they shot him.” There have been no reports of injuries among the soldiers.

A video of the incident shows the man standing still behind a pole, when a soldier fired a round near him; Mahdawi started walking towards the soldiers who fired several other rounds, and then he started running towards them before they fired the fatal shots.

Also on Tuesday, A Palestinian child was injured on midday when she was hit by a speeding car driving by an Israeli settler in Hebron city, northern West Bank. Liyan Al Razam, 5, was moved to the Ahli Hospital in Hebron city after sustaining moderate injuries after being hit by the settler car.

Local sources said that the settler fled the scene after the incident. It remains unclear whether the incident was deliberate or a traffic accident. Hit and run incident by settlers against Palestinians most of the time go unpunished as the settlers flee the scene and Israeli military refuses to investigate those attacks.

Elsewhere Palestinian sources announced that Israeli troops detained, on Tuesday at dawn, 13 Palestinian civilians during home searches in the West Bank, while one man was detained at Gaza border crossing. The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that nine Palestinian were abducted when Israeli troops invaded the Shu’fat refugee camp, in Jerusalem, and searched homes there.

Among those detained by the army were the widow of Ghassan Abu Jamal, who was killed in 2014 after carrying out an attacked that targeted a synagogue in Jerusalem, PPS reported. In the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Israeli troops invaded several areas and searched homes then abducted five Palestinian civilians then took them to unknown location.

Also on Tuesday, a Palestinian was detained by Israeli troops at the Erez border terminal, at Gaza border with Israel. Omar Abu Assad, 25, was crossing with his mother because she needed medical care in a West Bank hospital. Local sources said that Abu Assad was detained for several hours then was forced along with his mother by Israeli troops to go back to Gaza.
