Israeli occupation forces escalated their invasion, Tuesday, in various neighborhoods of Tulkarem, located in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank. The city witnessed intensified military activity and a wide deployment of soldiers and armored vehicles, amid repressive measures against residents.
Media sources said two Israeli military vehicles were stationed at the al-Mega Roundabout in the northern neighborhood of the city, where soldiers stopped passing vehicles, searched them, and inspected passengers’ identities while interrogating many Palestinians.
Meanwhile, foot patrols were deployed in the vegetable market at the city center, where Israeli forces fired stun grenades to intimidate residents.
Several young men were also detained, and one was abducted, though his identity remains unknown at this time.
Occupation forces invaded multiple homes in the eastern part of the city near Abu Al-Fool neighborhood in Tulkarem refugee camp, ordering residents to evacuate until 7:00 PM today. Among the displaced families were the Asia and Abu Al-Ghiyab families.
In Nablus Street, Israeli forces abducted Ahmad Abu Ghaliya, a resident of Bal’a, while he was working at “Fawwal Al-Sham” restaurant.
Additionally, Nablus Street near Nur Shams refugee camp was blocked off using vehicle tires, completely halting traffic.
Israeli troops conducted foot patrols in Jabal Al-Nasr neighborhood of Nur Shams refugee camp, accompanied by heavy use of stun grenades.
They chased, detained and assaulted several young men, before abducting a few of them and taking them to military outposts inside the camp.
These violations are part of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Tulkarem and its refugee camps, now in its 86th consecutive day.
The offensive has resulted in widespread destruction of infrastructure, dozens of homes and buildings, the displacement of thousands of residents, and significant damage to properties.
On Monday, a Palestinian man died after dozens of illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers stormed the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah in the central part of the occupied West Bank.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army has destroyed and demolished more than 2800 Palestinian homes in Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camp, since the beginning of its onslaught on the governorate.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Monday evening that the citizen, Wael Basem Mohammad Ghafri, 48, died after exposure to toxic tear gas fired by the occupation army who were protecting illegal Israeli colonizers.
On Sunday evening, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office released a statement announcing that another Palestinian detainee has died in Israeli custody, the second in less than one week.
The statement added that the wounded detainee, Nasser Khalil Mohammad Al-Radaydeh, 49, died on Sunday, after being transferred to the Hadassah Hospital from Ofer Prison.
This year alone, Israeli soldiers killed 128 Palestinians, including 22 children and 5 women, and injured hundreds in across the occupied West Bank.
Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers have killed 963 Palestinians, including 194 children, 21 women, 15 elderly individuals, one journalist, and two medics since October 7, 2023.
In the Gaza Strip, Israel has killed at least 50,240 Palestinians, including more than 15,626 children, 9,807 women, 235 journalists, and 23 medics. At least 116,931 people, mostly children, women, and the elderly, have been injured.
