Israeli sources have confirmed that two Israelis were killed and four were injured, on Saturday, in a shooting attack in the southern part of the country before the Palestinian shooter was shot dead.

The sources said that a Palestinian stepped out of a car carrying Israeli license plates at the Re’em-Masmyyia junction in Gedera, in the central district, and fired several live rounds from a handgun at a nearby bus stop.

According to the Police Central Commander, Avi Bitton, the shooter was shot dead by an “armed Israeli civilian who drove to the site of the attack.”

Israeli Emergency Service, Magen David Adom, rushed a 20-year-old Israeli who was seriously injured to a hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds.

It added that another Israeli, Yishai Garter, 23, from Modi’in Illit (an illegal Israeli colony in the occupied West Bank) was seriously injured before he succumbed to his wounds. Both Israelis were declared dead at the Israeli Kaplan Medical Center.

Among the wounded a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old, who were seriously injured, and a 65-year-old woman was moderately wounded.

The Israeli army and the police initiated a large-scale search campaign in the area believing that the shooter, who arrived in a car, could have received assistance, however, the police said it is likely “he acted alone.”

The Palestinian who reportedly carried out the attack before he was killed has been identified as Fadi Jamjoum, 37, from Shu’fat refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.

Furthermore, the Israeli army abducted Jamjoom’s wife at the Shu’fat military roadblock and took her to an unknown destination.

The army also invaded his home and his father’s home in Ras Khamis area in Shu’fat before searching and ransacking them, causing serious damage, and summed the father for interrogation.

Many Palestinians protested the invasion before the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

One Palestinian was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the head while in his home in the refugee camp.

The Palestinian was looking out from his window and filming the invasion using his mobile phone when a soldier pointed his gun at him and shot him.

One Palestinian was shot with a gas bomb in the head, and many suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The Israeli army also stormed a mourning home, set up by Fadi’s relative in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, leading to protests, before the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
