A WAFA news correspondent reported that the occupation forces opened fire on a group of children while they were playing football in the Ar-Reehiyya Girls Secondary School playground, which resulted in a child being injured by a bullet that penetrated the pelvis. He was transferred to a nearby hospital, where the fourth grader was pronounced dead.
In addition, a young man was killed by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets Thursday evening, in the town of Qabatia, south of Jenin. The Ministry of Health said that the young man, Mahdi Ahmed Kamil (20 years old), was killed after being shot by the occupation forces during their storming of the town of Qabatia.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed the town, deployed soldiers throughout the neighborhoods and invaded the home of Mahdi Kamil, opening fire on the unarmed man, killing him.
With the killing of Kamil, the number of slain Palestinian in Jenin Governorate since the start of the aggression on the city and camp of Jenin on January 21st has risen to 51 killed.
In addition, Israeli forces invaded various towns and villages in the West Bank on Thursday.
Israeli forces wounded a Palestinian in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its crews dealt with a live bullet injury below the knee during the occupation forces’ storming of Kafr Aqab.
Eyewitnesses reported that an occupation police and army force stormed Kafr Aqab, pursued a number of young men, and fired live bullets and sound bombs.
During the raid, the occupation closed a number of roads in the town, preventing the movement of citizens and vehicles there.
Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah. Local sources reported that several Israeli military vehicles stormed the town and took up positions around Birzeit University.
The Israeli occupation army and colonists attacked olive pickers in the town of Kafr Ra’i, south of Jenin.
The mayor of Kafr Ra’i, Ghassan Daraghma, told WAFA news that a group of colonists from the Dotan colony, protected by the Israeli occupation army, attacked citizens who tried to reach their lands to pick olives.
He added that Jenin Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Wall and Settlement Authority, organized an event today to help olive pickers in the town reach their lands, which the occupation prevents citizens from reaching to pick fruits.
Daraghmeh pointed out that the occupation army fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at citizens and participants in the event.
He pointed out that the participants in the event, in addition to the citizens, were the Governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu ar-Rob, his deputy, Mansour al-Sa’adi, the head of the Wall Resistance Authority, Mo’ayyad Shaaban, and members of the Kafr Ra’ey Municipality.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces prevent citizens in the town of Kafr Ra’ey from reaching about 5,000 dunums planted with olive trees.
During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by colonists and the occupation army. Farmers constantly face attacks and violations that prevent them from accessing their lands, leading to significant material losses and increasing their daily suffering under the pressure of the occupation.
The attacks by the Israeli occupation and its colonists also caused the uprooting, destruction, and damage of a total of 48,728 trees, including 37,237 olive trees over the past two years, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
Since the beginning of this year, Israeli soldiers and illegal paramilitary colonizers have killed 219 Palestinians, including 40 children and six women, in several parts of the occupied West bank.
74 Palestinians were killed in Jenin, 38 in Nablus, 29 in Tubas, 18 in Hebron, 17 in Ramallah,17 in Tulkarem, 9 in Bethlehem, 7 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit and 1 in Jericho.
