On Friday, Israeli soldiers injured several Palestinians during the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum town, east of Qalqilia, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media spokesperson of the Popular Committee in Kufur Qaddoum, Morad Shteiwi, said the Palestinians marched from the center of the town before the soldiers attacked them with rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
He added that the soldiers shot one Palestinian with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the thigh and caused many to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
This week’s procession commemorated the eighteenth anniversary of the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s death and called for ongoing popular resistance until liberation and independence.
The Palestinians have been holding weekly processions in Kufur Qaddoum for the last eighteen years, demanding the army to reopen the village’s main road the soldiers blockaded to allow easy access to the illegal colonizers driving to and from Kedumim illegal colony built on stolen Palestinian lands.
