On Thursday, illegal Israeli colonizers attacked a Palestinian home, cut many trees, and destroyed water tanks, while Israeli soldiers killed livestock in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.
Local sources told the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) that paramilitary colonists from the illegal colony of “Avigal,” built on stolen Palestinian land in Masafer Yatta, attacked the house of citizen Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Hamamda in Shuab Al-Forsa near the village of Al-Mafqara.
The sources added the colonizers broke solar energy cells, cut down many trees, and damaged drinking water tanks.
Furthermore, Israeli soldiers prevented Palestinian shepherds and farmers from entering the area near the Al-Karmel and At-Tiwana communities and fired at Palestinian shepherds and their flock, killing and wounding several livestock owned by Hani Abu Arram.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
