Mohammad Ata Al Jirjawi, 35, died on Friday at dawn of wounds sustained
Thursday night when unknown gunmen opened fire at Hamas activists in
Gaza City Center.
Medical sources reported that Al Jirjawi sustained a direct live round hit to the chest. He arrived at the hospital in very critical condition Thursday night and died early Friday morning.
Moreover, Palestinian security sources stated that unknown gunmen opened fire at the house of the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mahmod Al Zahar, in central Gaza City while another gun battle erupted in the area surrounding the home of Mahmod Abbas, Palestinian President, also in Gaza City. No injuries were reported from either attack.

Palestinian sources reported on Thursday that unknown gunmen abducted a fighter of the Al Qassam brigades, the armed wing of Hamas then shot and injured another fighter who accompanied him.
The Maan News Agency reported that gunmen shot and injured Mohammad Ata Al Jirjawi, and abducted Mahmoud Al-Lee, both members of the Al Qassam brigades,
The attack took place in the Al Sabra neighborhood, in the center of Gaza city. Medical sources in Gaza described the injury of Al Jirjawi as serious and he suffered from a round of live ammunition in his chest.
No Palestinian armed faction claimed responsibility for the attack.
