Al-Mawasi stretches along the coasts of Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and suffers from a lack of infrastructure and limited capacity for urban expansion.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stated in a report that many Palestinians find refuge in parts of Al-Mawasi in the central Gaza Strip, where ‘ongoing military operations’ and repeated evacuation orders have repeatedly displaced families.
