The Commission for Prisoners’ and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) announced, on Sunday, the death of the prisoner, Mohammad Mounir Moussa, 37, at the Soroka Medical Center inside Israel.

In a joint statement, the prisoner associations reported that Israeli authorities informed the Civil Affairs Commission that the slain young man, a resident of Bethlehem, died on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, in southern Israel.

According to the statement, occupation forces abducted Musa, a married father of three children, on April 20, 2023, he was imprisoned in the Ramon prison until the time of his death.

The statement added that the “Prisoner Musa did not suffer from any chronic health problems before his arrest, and there is not enough information about the circumstances of his martyrdom.”

At least 41 Palestinian prisoners and detainees have died in Israeli custody since October 7, 2023, including 24 from Gaza, not including the dozens of Gaza detainees whose identities have never been released by occupation prison authorities.

The Shireen Observatory website reports that 42 Palestinian prisoners have been killed, including 23 from Gaza, many with obvious signs of torture, since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip.
