On Sunday evening, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers set fire to a residential room in the Shuab al-Batem area, attempted to assault Palestinians in Khirbet al-Halawa, and invaded Bedouin dwellings and villages in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.

Local nonviolent activist Osama Makhamra stated that several colonizers invaded the area and burned a residential room belonging to Yusef Mohammad Jabarin in the eastern area of Shuab al-Batem in Masafer Yatta.

Makhamra added that the colonizers also invaded several Bedouin dwellings and villages in Masafer Yatta, before attempting to assault Ismail Muhammad Abu Aram and his family in Khirbet al-Halawa.

The colonizers threatened to displace the Palestinian and his family, before invading Al-Masfara and Ash-Shafa areas.

It is worth mentioning that the colonizers have escalated their violations in Masafer Yatta, attacking homes, Bedouin dwellings, shepherds, farmers, and livestock, in addition to uprooting trees and bulldozing lands.

Earlier, a group of illegal Israeli colonizers established a new colonialist outpost on privately owned Palestinian land in the Khallet Naseeruddin area, overlooking the Al-Fahs and Wadi al-Sameen areas, near Hebron.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

IHL Treaties – Geneva Convention (IV) on Civilians, 1949 – Article 49: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
