The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed it continues to carry out its vital humanitarian mission in Gaza, despite the siege, bombardment, and catastrophic conditions facing civilians.
In a statement posted on its official X account, UNRWA said its schools continue to shelter displaced families, having been converted into temporary shelters.
Social workers are providing protection services and psychosocial support to help survivors rebuild their lives with dignity.
More than 12,000 UNRWA staff in Gaza are working daily to deliver education, healthcare, and emergency aid.
“Behind every lesson, medical consultation, water delivery, or waste collection stands an UNRWA staff member proving each day that our mission continues despite all obstacles,” the agency stated.
UNRWA reports that over 70,000 displaced Palestinians are sheltering in its facilities, many of which have been damaged by Israeli strikes.
The agency has resumed limited health services and launched emergency learning programs for thousands of children.
However, Israeli restrictions continue to block the entry of humanitarian convoys, medical equipment, and international personnel.
The agency warns that Gaza’s infrastructure is collapsing. Explosive remnants, fuel shortages, and blocked aid shipments are crippling relief efforts.
UNRWA has called for immediate international intervention to prevent further loss of life and to restore basic services for over 2 million people trapped under siege.
Earlier Friday, Israeli occupation forces continued their violations of the ceasefire agreement, killing three Palestinians and injuring several others in attacks across the Gaza Strip. The escalation comes amid growing international scrutiny, including a newly released U.S. government report suggesting Israel may have committed hundreds of violations in Gaza.
