Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing several Palestinians and demolishing residential buildings in Gaza city, Jabalia, Beit Lahia, Rafah, and Khan Younis.
Medical sources confirmed the killing of Yousef Rajab al‑Nazr, a young man shot by Israeli drone fire in Jabalia al‑Balad, northern Gaza.
The strike coincided with the demolition of buildings in Rafah, where explosions reverberated across the southern city. Artillery bombardment also targeted neighborhoods in Gaza City and Khan Younis, adding to the destruction.
Earlier in the day, three Palestinians were killed in Beit Lahia. Among them was Defense officer Suhail Dahman after succumbing to the injuries he sustained a day earlier in an Israeli occupation strike near Al-Ribat Mosque in the Beit Lahiya project area, north of Gaza.
Two others were killed and three injured when a drone bombed a gathering of civilians near al‑Atatra roundabout, west of Beit Lahia.
Residents reported renewed demolitions and bombardments in Gaza City’s Tuffah and Zeitoun districts, in eastern Beit Lahia, al‑Bureij refugee camp, and Rafah. In Khan Younis, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb near a gas station in Abu Aker, sowing panic among civilians.
Medical authorities announced that the cumulative death toll in Gaza has now risen to 70,354, the majority of them children and women, since the start of Israel’s assault on October 7, 2023.

In Gaza, more than 70 children have been reported killed since October 10th, when the world hoped the relentless violence and distress for more than one million children would end.

Since the ceasefire agreement of October 11, at least 367 Palestinians have been killed and 953 injured, with 624 bodies retrieved from destroyed areas.
Authorities also noted that 223 additional victims were added to the cumulative tally after their identities were confirmed between November 28 and December 5.
Al Jazeera’s latest reports confirm that Israel has violated the ceasefire hundreds of times, killing hundreds of Palestinians since October 10.
Investigations reveal that Israel continues a starvation campaign, destroying farmland and greenhouses, leaving over 86 percent of Gaza’s agricultural land damaged or unusable.

Human rights organizations warn that the ongoing bombardments, demolitions, and systematic targeting of civilian infrastructure amount to collective punishment and genocide.
