Palestinian medical sources reported Monday that a farmer was seriously injured after being targeted by Israeli army fire while working in his land, in southern Gaza. The sources said that Amer Abu Hadayda, 22, suffered a serious injury after shot by a live round in the chest, exiting from his back, as he worked in his land in Khan Younis.
The fire came from soldiers manning one of the military towers across the border with Gaza.
Hadayda was moved to the Gaza European Hospital, and was immediately admitted to surgery before being moved to the Intensive Care Unit.
The army frequently attacks Palestinian farmers and workers working close to the border area in Gaza; dozens of casualties have been reported.
Soldiers also repeatedly invade border areas in the coastal region, uproot farmlands and property.
