Israeli radical settlers destroyed on Wednesday morning farmlands owned by Palestinian farmers from the village of Tybah near the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
According to Palestinian sources, the settlers set a vast are of lands on fire that was planted with wheat near the northern entrance of the village.
The villagers told local media that the settlers came from the nearby illegal settlement of Remonim originally built on lands taken from local farmers.
In other news, a number of Palestinian civilians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation on Wednesday at dawn when Israeli troops invade Al aroub refugee camp near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Residents said that army vihicles stormed the camp then troops searched and ranskaed a number of homes. Later troops fired tear gas into residents’ homes casing many residents to suffer from effects of tear gas inhalation.
Elsewhere, Egyptian military forces have started digging massive tunnel along borders with the Gaza Strip, according to Days of Palestine. The tunnel is intended to help the Egyptians to monitor the smuggling tunnels between Egypt and Gaza.
Although these tunnels are used to take essential goods into the besieged territory, and have been described as “Gaza’s lifeline,” the government in Cairo claims that they are a threat to its security. The tunnel is expected to be 2km from the actual border; it will be 20m deep and 10m wide.
According to news sources local Egyptian residents complained that preliminary work has already destroyed their farms, which are their main source of income.
