The Israeli High Court cancelled Monday the temporary injunctions imposed on the construction of the separation wall fence near West Bank settlements of Ariel and Immanuel.
The Ariel wall section runs around 25 kilometers deep inside the West Bank, and was earlier faced with serious U.S. objections. ÂÂ
The court allowed army to resume construction works until the court’s next session on the petitions submitted by Palestinian villagers against the construction of the wall.
The route subjected to the court ruling is planned to encircle Ariel and nearby settlements.
In the last court session on the petitions held ten days ago, the court requested of the petitioners to present opinions by security experts that contradict the position of the army’s representatives submitted to the court.
They also decided to extend the number of panel members handling the petitions to nine.
Some two months ago the court imposed a temporary injunction forcing a freeze on construction works.ÂÂ
