Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, demanded the Palestinian Authority to set a date for elections in Nablus municipality,’soon and without delays’.

“We appreciate and respect the efforts of the current council”, a Hamas statement reads, “We demand those who are not fulfilling their duties, to start working for the best of their country”.

Also, the movement said that there are “some sides” who are trying to topple the municipality in order to achieve personal goals, and demanded the current council to provide better services to the residents.

“Political conflicts should not affect the work of the city council; we appeal the council not to make any strategic decisions which could negatively affect the municipality”.
