After Israeli forces prevented foreign officials from passing through a Nablus checkpoint, they held their planned meeting with local Palestinian officials in the street in front of the checkpoint, Maan News Agency reported on Friday.
General Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Nablus, Namir Khay’yat met with delegates of the UK Finance Ministry and General Consul at the Awarta Checkpoint near Nablus Friday after Israeli soldiers prevented the foreign officials’ entrance into the city.
Khay’yat briefed the delegates regarding the situation in the city, the Israeli policy of closure and attacks which have been wreaking havoc on the Palestinian economy.
Israeli forces kept the northern West Bank city closed after killing five Palestinians and injuring dozens on Thursday.
