An Israeli military source reported on Wednesday that one settler was seriously injured in his neck after being shot near Naby Elias village, east of the West Bank city of Qalqilia.The source stated that according to initial information the man was hit by shots fired from a passing vehicle.
A Palestinian medical source reported that a medical team of the Red Crescent Society provided the injured settler with first aid before an Israeli ambulance arrived to the scene and evacuated him.
Magen David Adom Israeli rescue teams evacuated the settler to Beilinson Medical Center in Petach Tikva, Israeli online daily Ynetnews reported.
Soldiers closed all roads leading to Naby Elias village and barred the residents and journalists from entering it.
Israeli soldiers were dispatched to the scene and launched wide-scaled searches in the area.
