Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinian citizens Monday morning in Beta village south east of the city of Nablus.
Eye witnesses in Beta village reported that a huge contingent of Israeli forces entered the village early Monday morning and broke into many houses, before arresting nine Palestinian residents.
Ma’an reports that Israeli troops have currently occupied the entrances of the village and are preventing Palestinians from leaving or entering. Israeli soldiers are also patrolling the streets, stopping Palestinians and demanding to see their ID cards. Beta’s schools have closed. There was a confrontation between unarmed Palestinian residents and Israeli soldiers but no casualties have been reported.
The village of Beta was placed under siege by the Israeli army four days ago, after armed Palestinians shot at an Israeli settler and seriously injured him.
