Bird Flu-infected chickens were found in the Israeli settlement Moahsaf Bigoat in the Jordan Valley in the West Bank on Thursday morning, Israeli media sources reported.
Shortly after the news was issued, the Israeli Government closed the area and started to kill the all birds in the valley.
The settlement, built illegally by Israeli citizens on occupied Palestinian land, contains at least 20,000 chickens, and is the only farm in the Jordan valley. The farm is only one kilometer from the Jordanian borders, which means that the disease may have transported to Jordan, the source added.
A state of emergency was announced in the Palestinian areas, although the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Palestinian areas have not yet been affected by the disease.
