Israeli army troops invaded the West Bank city of Qalqilia and arrested several residents Wednesday at dawn.

Saher Abu Assap, Yassen Yassen and his brother Talal Yassen, were arrested when troops invaded the city and searched and ransacked scores of residents homes, eyewitnesses reported.

Meanwhile, in the nearby village of Azon, army jeeps closed the north and west entrances of the village then stopped residents from leaving, local sources said.

Soldiers also installed a portable military checkpoint at the Nablus-Qalqilia road tto stop and search residents.
