The Islamic Jihad Movement and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) announced that they have struck a deal late on Monday evening that would see the release of abducted Hamas and Fateh members who were kidnapped during clashes between the two movements in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Islamic Jihad and the PFLP issued a press release stating that the two movements managed to negotiate a deal between Hamas and Fateh in order to release the captured members of the two movements and end the cycle of violence and bloody clashes among the members of Fateh and Hamas.

The deal was reached after further clashes took place between Fateh and Hamas members on Monday evening in the northern part of the Gaza Strip; two residents were injured and at least ten members of the two movements were abducted.

Local sources reported that violent armed clashes took place near the house of one of the leaders of the Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fateh, in Beit Lahia.

Despite of the relative calm on Monday at night, sounds of gunfire and small explosions are still being heard in the area.
