Two Palestinian fighters of the ruling Hamas party have been reportedly killed by two Israeli air strikes on southern Gaza Strip on Friday, as a column of Israeli tanks rolled into the eastern refugee camp of Buraij.

Palestinian medical sources reported that Mohammad aL-Najjar and Amin aL-Najjar, arrived as dead bodies to the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli air strikes have been carried out earlier on Friday dawn in the Khuza’a village, to the east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The Israeli forces have been operating in the Kuza’a village of Khan Younis over the past week, killing a Hamas fighter, in addition to today’s two .

Also, today morning, a column of Israeli tanks involving bulldozers, rolled into the central Gaza Strip refugee camp of Buraij, as armed clashes broke out between local resistance fighters and the invading Israeli army force.

Meanwhile, the aL-Qassam brigades , the armed wing of Hamas party, announced they targeted an Israeli tank with an RBJ shell, while the Islamic Jihad fighters targeted another tank.

In a statement, faxed to press, the Islamic Jihad’s armed wing claimed responsibility for firing a mortar shell onto a group of Israelis soldiers, confirming no injuries among the soldiers.

The Annaser Salah Eldin brigades, the armed wing of the popular resistance committees also claimed responsibility for firing five mortar shells against the incurring tanks, a statement read.

Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the attack on the aL-Buraij refugee camp .

Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, told a rally in Tel-Aviv yesterday that Israel will a blow to Hamas, ‘after which the group wont be able to harm Israeli civilians’.

Omert held Hamas responsible for a cross-border attack on the Nahal Oaz Israeli crossing point in eastern Gaza city on Wednesday, which claimed the lives of two Israeli civil servants, who worked at a fuel terminal on the crossing.

Today’s incursion into aL-Buraij came on the heels of almost one month of calm in the coastal territory, after Israeli military killed early on March more than 120 Palestinian including 40 children, within Israeli threats to carry out a massive attack on the Gaza Strip.
