Arab League assistant secretary-general for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Yousef Al Yazal, stated that the Arab League received $36 Million from Algeria and Qatar to be transferred to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank as part of the implementation of the decisions of the Arab Summit that took place in Libya in March.
The Qatar embassy in Cairo stated that Jassem Mubarak Darwish, the acting ambassador in Cairo, handed the check to the Arab League during a meeting with the assistant secretary-general, Ahmad Bin Hally.

Bin Hally thanked Qatar for its donation and its ongoing support to the Palestinian people.

It remains unclear how the money will make it to the Gaza Strip under the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority, especially due to the ongoing Israel siege, embargo and the ongoing rift with Fateh.
