Loud explosions and gun shots were been heard near the annexation wall near Qalandia refugee camp near Ramallah, Thursday near Midnight.Israeli media sources reported that Palestinians set some tires on fire and put a gas container in it near the wall causing an explosion near the wall which sustains some damage.

According to Ma’an news agency, an Israeli military spokeswoman said the gunfire happened when Palestinian teens hurled stones at the Qalandia checkpoint after midnight, and Israeli border police at the military area responded to the incident with “riot dispersal mechanisms,” which usually include the launch of tear-gas canisters, percussion grenades and rubber-coated bullets.

Hours after the reported explosion, tens of thousands of Palestinians gathered at the checkpoint, the access terminal for Palestinians in the northern West Bank for Jerusalem. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims try to pray in the Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem every Friday.

Tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers line up at the checkpoints setup by Israel on the main entrances of Jerusalem, in an attempt to enter Jerusalem for prayer.

Israel sometimes allows people aged above 50 to enter without permits during the month of Ramadan only.
