Israeli soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets and gas bombs at dozens of Palestinian protestors in Silwan town, in occupied East Jerusalem. At least five residents were wounded and twelve detained. Local sources reported that the clashes took place on Monday evening, after the army invaded Batn al-Hawa neighborhood.
Soldiers kidnapped five residents and accused them of participating in the clashes. The kidnapping of the five residents raises the number of kidnapped residents in less than one day to twelve.
Furthermore, soldiers occupied the rooftops of two homes in Wadi Hilwa and Batn al-Hawa neighborhoods and used them as military towers .
On Sunday at night, at least twenty residents were wounded during clashes that took place with Israeli soldiers and policemen in Silwan.
Local sources said that the clashes extended to the neighborhoods of Batn al-Hawa, Wadi Hilwa and al-Bustan.
Hundreds of policemen were deployed in the area while undercover forces also attacked the protesters and fired gas bombs at several homes.
