Israeli settlers from Itamar, near Nablus, have carried out two attacks against Palestinians on Thursday.Ma’an News Agency are reporting that three cars were set on fire overnight in the village of Beit Furik, near Nablus, and the Palestinian Authority news site, WAFA, are reporting that settlers have attacked Palestinian motorists on Thursday using a road near to the settlement.
Three Palestinian motorists were dragged from their car and beaten, resulting in those attacked being admitted to a local hospital in moderate condition. In addition there car was also set on fire.
Tensions have increased in the district following the demolition of a settler outpost, named Migron, by the Israeli military. Although the demolition was carried out by the Israeli military, Palestinians in the West Bank are often the victims of settler reprisals, known as “price tag” attacks.
In the month of September a mosque in the village of Qusra was set alight, and an Israeli military base was vandalized. On Tuesday settlers from Yitzhar, also near Nablus, shut down a West Bank road and pelted Palestinian cars with stones.
