[Wednesday Evening, December 18, 2013] Palestinian medical sources have reported that undercover forces of the Israeli army shot and killed one Palestinian, and wounded seven others, in the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank city of Jenin. The sources said that Nafe’ Jamil Sa’dy, 22, was killed after undercover forces of the Israeli army opened fire at him and his cousin, Ali Qassem Sa’day, 24, as they were walking near the home of detainee Jamal Abu Al-Haija.

The undercover forces infiltrated the refugee camp in an attempt to kidnap Al-Hija’s son, Hamza.

Eyewitnesses stated that the two were shot in their legs before the soldiers kidnapped them and took them to an unknown destination.

Nafe’ died of his wounds later on, and his body was handed to the Palestinians at the Al-Jalama roadblock, north of Jenin. His cousin was not released.

Thousands of Palestinians took part in the funeral procession and burial ceremony of Nafe’, and marched carrying Palestinian flags, chanting slogans against the occupation, the assassination, and ongoing Israeli violations.

Local sources said that the assassination took place after the undercover forces infiltrated into the camp, and broke into the home of Abu Al-Haija, causing clashes with dozens of local youths.

Medical sources said that the clashes led to seven injuries among Palestinian youths.

The seven have been identified as Mohammad Abdul-Latif Shalaby, Hammoud Jaber Shalaby, Anas Fathy Abu Aita, Mojajid Mahameed, Mahmoud Abu Zeina, Mohammad As’ad Gharra and Ali Qassem Sa’day.

All wounded residents, except for the kidnapped man, Ali, have been moved to the Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital in Jenin, while dozens have been treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation.

National and Islamic factions in Jenin called for retaliation against the Israeli military for its ongoing and escalating violations and assaults against the Palestinians, their lands and property.
