For the 102nd consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces continued their offensive in Jenin and its refugee camp, intensifying demolitions and infrastructure destruction aimed at altering its layout. Access to the area remains restricted.
Official estimates indicate that all homes and facilities within the refugee camp have suffered damage, either partially or completely, due to airstrikes and demolitions. The city of Jenin has also sustained significant destruction, particularly in the eastern district and Al-Hadaf neighborhood.
Forced displacement continues, with families from the refugee camp and surrounding areas unable to return. According to Jenin’s municipality, the number of displaced residents from the refugee camp and city has exceeded 22,000.
The economic situation in Jenin is deteriorating rapidly, with businesses suffering heavy losses due to the prolonged military operations. Many shops have closed, and commercial activity has declined, particularly in the western neighborhoods, which are experiencing near-total economic paralysis.
Infrastructure damage, including the bulldozing of roads, the destruction of electric poles, power lines, and water pipelines, has further exacerbated the crisis.
Israeli forces continue to deploy additional military reinforcements around the refugee camp, while foot patrols are increasingly visible in various neighborhoods.
Daily military movements are reported across villages in the governorate, with Israeli units maintaining a constant presence.
Since the start of the offensive on January 21, Israeli forces have killed at least 40 Palestinians, in addition to wounding and abducting dozens.
On Friday, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man after they surrounded his home in Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
The Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority informed the Ministry of Health that Israeli forces fatally shot Omar Mustafa Abu Leil, 39, and prevented Palestinian medics from retrieving his body.
