On Wednesday, the Israeli army intensified its bombing and shelling across the devastated, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians throughout the coastal enclave.
Medical sources in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza, reported that Israeli forces targeted tents sheltering displaced families west of the city, killing two Palestinians, including a woman, and injuring many others.
In central Gaza, at least two Palestinians, including a child, were killed and several others wounded when the army fired a missile at an apartment belonging to the Al-Haj family in Nusseirat refugee camp.
In Gaza City, medical sources reported that twenty-two Palestinians were killed, and over fifty others wounded in an Israeli bombing of the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, situated in the eastern part of the city. Another Palestinian succumbed to severe injuries sustained in an earlier Israeli airstrike.

A spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense quoted by Al Jazeera said that the death toll from the Shuja’iyya attack could rise to thirty, as search and rescue teams continue working to recover those trapped beneath the rubble.
Some reports indicate that the number of slain Palestinians in Shuja’iyya is much higher, however, the ongoing bombing and destructions continued to hinder rescue efforts, as dozens of Palestinians remain under the rubble.
Rami Abdu, Assist. Prof of Law & Finance. Chairman EuroMed Human Rights Monitor (@EuroMedHR) said on X social media platform: “horrific Israeli massacre just moments ago in Shuja’iyya neighborhood—reports speak of 500 killed, injured, or missing.”

Additionally, Israeli forces continued to wire and detonate Palestinian homes and structures in areas northwest of Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Health Ministry warned that Gaza’s ongoing border closures are preventing the delivery of life-saving medical supplies and humanitarian aid.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Marwan Al-Hums, Director of Field Hospitals at Gaza’s Ministry of Health, stressed the urgent need to open border crossings to allow for the entry of food, water, and medicine. “There are no medicines available to treat sick children in Gaza,” he said.
Al-Hums highlighted the dire situation facing Gaza’s children, noting widespread cases of diarrhea and hepatitis due to the lack of clean drinking water and nutritious food. “Most injured individuals arrive at hospitals with severe burns, as Israel is using new types of weaponry,” he added.
The Health Ministry has further stated that the lack of adequate nutrition and safe drinking water is intensifying health challenges in Gaza.

According to its estimates, 60,000 children are at risk of severe health complications due to malnutrition. The Ministry emphasized that the closure of Gaza’s border crossings is exacerbating the malnutrition crisis.
Sources cited by the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the Israeli military has expanded its ground operations in Gaza. According to the report, the army’s 36th Division is now active in Rafah and along the Morag axis, including the Tel Al-Sultan area—regions where the army has not previously operated.
Since the resumption of Israeli bombings on March 18, at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured, primarily women and children, across the Gaza Strip.
To date, the Israeli army has killed at least 50,810 Palestinians, including 15,626 children, 9,805 women, 3,853 elders, 234 journalists, and twenty-three medics. More than 115,688 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been injured. Thousands remain missing, believed to be trapped beneath the rubble scattered across the coastal enclave.
