On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers attacked a funeral procession in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, causing several injuries.

Local media activist Mohammad Awad said the Palestinians were carrying the coffin of a deceased Palestinian and trying to reach the local graveyard when the soldiers closed the Iron gate at the town’s main entrance.

Awad added that the soldiers fired several gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing many mourners to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The attack is not the first, as the soldiers frequently attack funeral processions in Beit Ummar, especially since the Palestinians have to cross a main street to reach the graveyard, and the soldiers are almost constantly deployed there.

Many Palestinians have been injured during these violations, including some who were shot with live fire.
