On Tuesday evening, Israeli soldiers invaded the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
The mayor of Sebastia, Mohammad Azem, stated that several Israeli military vehicles and infantry forces invaded the town before heading to the archaeological area.
Azem added that the soldiers fired concussion grenades and gas bombs at the Palestinians to force them to leave.
It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequently invade Sebastia to accompany groups of colonialist settlers into the archaeological area, which the military wants to impose its full control on to prevent the Palestinians from entering it.
During these invasions, the soldiers block all Palestinian traffic, frequently storm homes, abduct Palestinians, attack protesters, and remove the Palestinian flag from the archeological area.
