On Wednesday evening, Israeli soldiers abducted the deputy director of the Islamic Waqf and Endowment Department in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Media sources said the soldiers abducted Dr. Najeh Bkearat after stopping him at a military roadblock southeast of occupied Jerusalem.

Before abducting the Palestinian official, the soldiers stopped dozens of cars and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

In related news, the soldiers invaded the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and fired many gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians who protested the invasion.
