On Wednesday, August 13, day 677 of Israel’s ongoing slaughter of the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza, the Israeli military has killed at least 100 people since dawn. Most of the casualties were crushed or exploded by Israeli bombs, while 38 were killed by Israeli snipers while seeking aid at the US corporate-run arenas. At least 2 died of starvation today, adding to an ever-increasing death toll that has now reached 235.
This follows Tuesday’s bombardment, in which 73 Palestinians were killed.
As of midnight Wednesday, Israeli occupation tanks are now advancing in the Al-Zaytoun and Al Sabra neighborhoods in southern Gaza City, following days of intense air and artillery strikes targeting the areas.
The hunger and health crisis has grown more severe. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Wednesday that more than 14,800 patients in the Gaza Strip still need life-saving medical care that is not available in the Strip.
In a brief statement, Ghebreyesus called for the reactivation of medical transfer routes from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, before it’s too late. He pointed out that the organization supported the evacuation of 32 children and 6 adult patients from the Gaza Strip today. He explained that 25 children and 6 adult patients were evacuated to Italy, while 5 sick children were evacuated to Belgium, and 2 sick children were evacuated to Turkey.
Amid the ongoing blockade and closure of crossings, Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.235 people have died of starvation – nearly half of them children, and the vast majority of the starvation deaths have occurred since May 27th, 2025, when the US corporation GHF took over ‘aid distribution’, shutting down the existing aid distribution network of over 400 locations and replacing them with just 4 extremely chaotic, ‘Hunger Games’ style arenas where Palestinians are forced to fight each other for small scraps of food.

With the scorching heat causing numerous cases of sunstroke and heat exhaustion in the makeshift camps where over a million displaced Palestinians are now residing, some families managed to make it to the seashore to cool off in the water:
Summer heat in Gaza’s tents has exceeded 50 °C (122° Fahrenheit), leaving displaced people and the wounded struggling with extreme thirst and heat.
Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are the most at risk. Urgent humanitarian intervention is needed.
The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza warn of a severe healthcare crisis as hospitals face critical shortages of medicines and supplies, leaving medical staff unable to properly treat patients.
He highlighted the emergence of dangerous bacteria causing severe infections in injuries, which can lead to death or amputations.
Cases of flaccid paralysis are also rising, contributing to higher mortality rates. In addition, the spread of skin diseases is worsening due to extreme heat, limited water, and lack of hygiene supplies.
Al-Zeitoun massacre:
While the Israeli occupation continues its threats to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, the “Zeitoun” neighborhood, one of the largest neighborhoods in Gaza City, has been subjected to an ongoing aggression for several days. The Israeli military has destroyed more than 300 homes in the neighborhood over the past three days, committing massacres against a number of families after blowing up the homes with their occupants inside.
A local correspondent with Wafa news explained that the army is carrying out the demolition operations using high-explosive bombs that destroy the surroundings of the targeted house, with the aim of inflicting the greatest possible losses. The neighborhood, located in the southeastern part of Gaza City, was subjected to intense aerial and ground bombardment over the course of 22 months of the genocidal war, destroying vast residential areas and blocks.
The occupation army also occupied parts of the Strip, particularly in the eastern region, within what it called “buffer zones” extending hundreds of meters into the Strip.
The southern areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood are adjacent to the Wadi Gaza area, which is under occupation control. Citizens are prohibited from settling there or traveling to it, except to receive alleged aid.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli army’s chief of staff approved the “central idea” of the plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, including an attack on the Zeitoun neighborhood, which the Israeli army indicated in a statement began on Tuesday.
During the last several days, the Israeli occupation army began intensively targeting inhabited residential buildings, some of which were more than five stories high, instilling a sense of terror among their residents and forcing some of them to flee.
The following attacks by the Israeli military against Palestinian civilians in Gaza were documented by local sources on Wednesday:

Multiple casualties were reported injured as Israeli aircraft strike a home near Al-Samer Junction in Gaza City.
11:00 pm
Seven aid security personnel were killed today as Israeli occupation forces bomb near Al-Saftawi Roundabout, north of Gaza City.
Throughout the ongoing genocide, Israeli strikes have repeatedly targeted police and volunteer guards. In July, UN data revealed that 94% of aid trucks entering Gaza were intercepted, failing to reach their intended destinations.
6:15 pm
Eight citizens were killed and others injured on Wednesday evening when the Israeli occupation forces targeted civilians in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, and northwest of Gaza City.
Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that three killed arrived at the hospital after a group of civilians were targeted by a missile fired from an Israeli drone in the Al-Hakr area, south of Deir al-Balah.
Wafa news correspondents said that Israeli drones targeted a group of citizens northwest of Gaza City, killing five and wounding others.
Medical sources in Gaza hospitals confirmed the deaths of 81 citizens since dawn today, including 45 in Gaza City.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces targeted gatherings of citizens near the aid distribution center on Salah al-Din Street, south of the Wadi Gaza area in the central Gaza Strip, killing five citizens and wounding 10 others.
An Israeli special force disguised as a Volkswagen bus loaded with explosives kidnapped Ismail Abdel Karim Khattab from the al-Hakr area and headed to Kissufim crossing, where tanks met them. This was followed by four attacks in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza before the operation was concluded, according to Gaza Now news service.
10:00 am
Israeli occupation aircraft carried out two airstrikes near the Deir al-Balah post office in central Gaza.
A visiting medical professional who is currently stationed in Nasser Hospital in Gaza wrote today:
Today’s MCI (Multiple Casualty Incident) load was notably large, over 100, we had things pretty much cleared out of the ER in 2.5 hours. The majority of injuries were single gunshot wound to the head. A ten year old and 15 year old were the youngest, one woman, the rest adult men. Basically none of these patients are intubated, they are marked as ‘blue’ or expected to die shortly.
The first patient I took care of was shot in the back at the level of the right scapula. He was awake and desperate for air, lying in the middle of the room amongst a pile of people. Presumably with right sided tension pneumothorax.
I’ve taken to carrying a scalpel and arterial clamp just for these cases. No needles for needle decompression. So before he got an IV he got a chest tube without sedation or analgesia. Me and a nurse basically pinned him down and went for it. Such is the state of things during some of these very large MCIs (Multiple Casualty Incidents). He survived.
A handful seemed to have tungsten cube injuries. Most of those went for laparotomy +\- chest tube in Emergency Department.
One person looked to have been hit with a large high caliber round. Entered at his iliac crest and exited his right butt cheek which was 100% gone. Could see into the hip joint, sacrum, and the severed sciatic nerve etc. Really really bad injury.
Some of the casualties at the GHF ‘aid’ site today:
An Israeli occupation soldier in Gaza posted an Instagram story from one of the U.S.-Israeli backed death traps showing him aiming a sniper at starving Palestinians seeking aid.
