The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported, Sunday, that three political prisoners, held by Israel, are ongoing with their hunger strike, two of them protesting their Administrative Detention, without charges or trial.
In a press release, the PPS said two detainees, identified as Emad Sawarka, 37, from Jericho, started the hunger strike 25 days ago, while Saed Abu Obeid, 41, from Jenin, began the strike seven days ago, protesting being held under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial.
It added that another detainee, identified as Ayyad al-Hreimi, from Bethlehem, started the hunger strike six days ago, protesting his abduction and imprisonment.
The PPS also said that Sawarka is held in solitary confinement in Asqalan prison after he was recently transferred from the Negev detention camp.
It stated that Saed Abu Obeid is held in the Negev detention camp, while al-Hreimi is in solitary confinement in Ofer Israeli prison.
It is worth mentioning that Emad Sawarka was abducted in July 2020, and was slapped with three consecutive Administrative Detention orders, each for four months.
The detainee, a married father of five children, is also a former political prisoner who spent 10 years in prison.
Meanwhile, detainee Abu Obeid was abducted in November of 2020, and was sentenced to four and a half months in prison; however, after he served his prison sentence, he was slapped with an Administrative Detention order.
He is also a former political prisoner who spent 12 years in various prisons and detention camps.
In addition, detainee Ayyad al-Hreimi was abducted on April 6th, 2021, less than two months after he was released from prison.
Al-Hreimi is also a former political prisoner who was held by Israel for five years and held a 45-day hunger strike in the year 2016.
