Israeli authorities banned the wife of Ahmad Sa’adat, the secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, from traveling from Ben Gorion airport to Japan on Tuesday.
Abla Sa’adat was banned from traveling through any means by the Israeli Secret Service, Shabak, according to a report issued by Maan news agency. Efforts by her lawyer and the Japanese embassy failed.
Sa’adat was traveling to attained a conference in Japan for work-related purposes. Israeli authorities said that she was banned from traveling due to her husband’s alleged involvement in the assasination of an Israeli Minster three years ago.
The Israeli government has also banned Sa’adat from traveling to Jordan since 2003.
