The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported, Monday, that six detainees, held by Israel under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial, are ongoing with the hunger strike, demanding to be released.
The PPS said Kayed al-Fasfous, from Doura town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, started the hunger strike 47 days ago, while detainee Miqdad al-Qawasma from Hebron city, started the strike 40 days ago.
It added that Ahmad Hamamra, from Bethlehem, started the strike 31 days ago, and Ala’ al-A’raj, from Tulkarem, started the strike 23 days ago and is facing serious complications.
Furthermore, Hisham Abu Hawwash, from Hebron city, started that strike 14 days ago, while Rayeq Sadeq Bisharat from Tubas, started the strike nine days ago.
Detainees held under the Administrative Detention orders are imprisoned without charges or trial as Israel claims to have “secret files” against them, files that can never be released, and neither the detainees nor their lawyers have access to.
Such orders are frequently renewed for three, six, or eight months, and in some cases a year each time.
