Palestinian security sources in Gaza reported that Israeli war-jets fired missiles at two locations said to be used by resistance fighters of the Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, in the Gaza Strip. The shelling comes while most of the Gaza Strip remained without electricity, while water shortage threatening the Strip.
Eyewitnesses in Rafah reported that at least two missiles were fired at two areas used as training centers for fighters of the Al Qassam Brigades; the two areas are in location of settlements Israel evacuated during last years’ disengagement plan from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers posted at the southern borders of the Gaza Strip fired several artillery shells at civilian houses in Al Shouka area, in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The shelling came after troops ordered the residents to evacuate their homes overnight and at dawn.
One of the residents of Rafah said that most of the residents left their homes and headed towards other areas in Rafah and Khan Younis fearing additional shelling to their areas.
Meanwhile, the municipalities of Rafah, Khan Younis and Gaza appealed the residents to reduce the usage of water as much as possible after the Israeli forces shelled water pumps that provide the central Gaza Strip and several areas in the south with water.
Also, at least half of the Gaza Strip remained without electricity after the Israeli air force shelled overnight the main power-plant. The shelled power plant provide at least 50% of the areas in the Gaza Strip with electricity.
