The Israeli Police shut down, on Sunday evening, two Palestinian institutions in Silwan neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem, under the claim that they are funded by the Hamas movement. The orders were signed by Israeli Police Commissioner, Yohanan Danino.Israeli Police Spokesperson Luba Samri, told the Maan News Agency that Israeli Police Officer, informers and investigators, raided the institutions on Sunday and shut them down for thirty days under direct orders of Danino.
The Police claim that the two institutions were used to finance activities for the Hamas movement in Silwan.
Samri stated that the Silwan Soccer Club, and As-Sadaqat Charitable Society, will remain closed for one month, and will be under investigation. They were also granted the right to appeal this decision.
She further said that last year Israel shut down ten offices in Jerusalem, and claimed the offices “were run by terrorist groups, especially Hamas,’ according to Samri.
