A number of Israeli settlers of vandalized Palestinian property and wrote aggressive graffiti in the Jerusalem neighbourhood of Shu’fat.
Eyewitnesses reported that eight cars belonging to Palestinians were flattened by settlers on Sunday night. They added that settlers sprayed ‘Death to Arabs’ and ‘Ulpana’ on the cars as retaliation for the failure of the ‘Regulation Bill’ to go through which means the Ulpana outpost in Beit El settlement must be evicted.
Israeli police said it will start a probe in the incident. Local observers said the failure of the “Regulation Bill” in the Knesset has led to an increase anti-Arab slogans in various areas in Jerusalem but no action has been taken against those who take part in it.
A combined force of the Israeli military, police and security services, kidnapped on Monday at dawn, a family in occupied East Jerusalem.
Members of Abu Humus family were kidnapped and transported to the Russian Compound (al-Maskobiyya) detention and interrogation center in West Jerusalem.
The Palestine News & Information Agency (WAFA), reported that an Israeli military force broke into Abu Humus’ home and attacked him and his family before kidnapping Abu Hums, his two sons and daughter.
In the meantime, Israeli soldiers abducted Mousa Abu Maria, head of the Popular Committee against the wall and settlements in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli settlers attacked Abu Maria while working in his land, that is adjacent to the settlement of Karmi Tsur. When other farmers attempted to aide him, Israeli soldiers intervened and abducted him and fired tear gas at the farmers.
In other news, dozens of activists, religious figures and families of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, participated Monday in a protest held in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Jerusalem, in solidarity with the hunger striking detainees.
The protesters carried signs expressing solidarity with the prisoners, and demanding their release.
Some of the signs called for an international boycott of Israel as an apartheid state, and as a state that violated international law.
Few Palestinian prisoners are still on hunger strike demanding their immediate release, one of which is on his 89th day of huger strike.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces attacked the homes and lands of Palestinian residents in the east of Khan Younis, South of the coastal region on Monday morning.
According to eye witnesses, Israeli forces situated at the border opened fire on the houses and lands north of the towns of Abasan and Kharaz’a which led to farmers fleeing their lands. No injuries have been reported.
