16 Palestinian pilgrims killed, while 36 others were injured when their bus overturned on Wednesday evening, in Ma’an city, south of Jordan.The Palestine Information Center reported from the Jordanian Civil Defense that, while on their way to perform pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, the driver apparently lost control before the bus overturned near the border.
He also affirmed that 16 Palestinians died while 36 others were transferred to hospital, suffering from moderate to serious injuries.
The Center added, according to PNN, that the death toll might increase in the coming hours, as a number of pilgrims were critically injured. The passengers, from the occupied West Bank, were heading to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
