An Israeli military source reported on Wednesday that Fateh gunmen of the Al Aqsa Brigades, shot and killed a settler near the West Bank settlement of  Migdalim, southeast of Nablus.The source stated that the attack was carried out by two gunmen who opened fired at the settler at a petrol station near the entrance to the Migdalim settlement east of Ariel.

Two gunmen carried out the attack, and fled the scene, Israeli sources reported; the killed settler is in his forties.

Israeli army and police forces are conducting searches in the area after closing it. The police believes that the man was shot at a close range.

Magen David Adom (rescue teams) reported that the settler suffered critical head wounds and that all attempts to resuscitate him failed.

The Palestinian Maan News Agency reported that the Al Aqsa Brigades claimed responsibility for the shooting. In a phone call with Maan, one of the fighters said that the attacks comes in retaliation to “the continuous Israeli crimes and assassinations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli war-jet fired a missile at a Palestinian vehicle in the Gaza Strip killing Abu Waleed Al Dahdouh, 39, one of the leaders of the Al Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.

One woman was injured as the assassination took place in a residential area located between the Islamic University and the Finance Ministry Compound in Gaza.
