The Indonesian Government has sent financial aid to victims of the Israeli occupation in Palestine, said Financial Minister Dr.Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Friday, the Indonesian National News agency (Antara) reported on Saturday.

She said that the Government sent one million US dollars and was also preparing another humanitarian financial assistance of another one million US dollars for .

"The financial aid for Palestine has been sent, but for not yet. So, the total financial aid is 2.0 million US dollars," said Sri Mulyani.

The humanitarian aid was taken from the 2006 State Budget, said the Minister of Finance.

The Indonesian government is mulling sending peacekeeping troops to as it would be too costly for the country, said Indonesian Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono.

The Palestinian Authority has been facing a serious financial crisis since March of 2006 as the and the European Union decided to halt all financial aid to the PA after Hamas won the legislative elections in January.

on the other hand, holds 55 million US dollars of Palestinian tax revenue since March.

The PA could not provide paychecks for its 165 thousand civil servants for the past five months.  Partial payments were provided to the employees, which covers only a total of one month.  The PA needs some 150 million US dollars per month to pay the state employees.
