One Palestinian child was shot and killed on Friday morning in renewed clashes between Fateh and Hamas gunmen in the Gaza Strip. Abductions and attacks against private and public properties were also reported. The number of civlians killed since Wednesday reached three.Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that Hasan Abu Nada, 2, was killed in crossfire between Hamas and Fateh gunmen, and that one woman was injured. Several other resident were also injured in several parts of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian security sources reported that the child was at his parents’ house, close to the house of Sameeh Al Madhoun, one of the leaders of the Al Aqsa brigades, the armed wing of Fateh movement.
The 60-year old grandmother of the child was injured in the clashes.
On Thursday, resident Othman Sameer Helles, 48, was shot and killed during armed clashes between members of Helles' family and the Hamas-formed Executive Force.
The clashes took place despite an agreement between the rival Fateh and Hamas movements to stop the feuds and end all sorts of tension.
The two movements also agreed to release all of the abducted members and supporters. The agreement was reached late on Thursday at night after mediation by the Palestinian Minister of Interior, Hani Al Qawasmi.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources reported that members of Abu Srour family burnt a house that belongs to Al Mash-Harawi family in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that the burnt house was topped by members of the executive force after a member of Srour family, identified as Rami Abu Srour, 24, was shot and killed on Wednesday evening. A twelve-year old child, identified as Mohammad Al Madhoun, was seriously injured.
Hamas sources reported that Abu Srour was killed when an RPG shell detonated as he was trying to fire it at members of the Executive Force, in Beit Lahia.
The sources added that members of Abu Srour's family burnt the house to avenge the death of Rami.
After the attack against the house, dozens of Hamas fighters and members of the executive force gathered in the area and exchanged fire with gunmen; several civilians were injured.
The clashes were stopped after members of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad mediated between the two groups.
In a separate attack, unknown gunmen burnt on Thursday three stores, a house and a wedding hall in Al Fallujah area, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday, gunmen abducted Dr. Handan Al Soufi, a lecturer at the Islamic University in Gaza and one of the local leaders of Hamas in the city.
Dr. Al Soufi was leaving a local mosque in Gaza when gunmen abducted him and fled the scene. Hamas movement demanded the immediate release of Dr. Al Soufi.
