Israeli soldiers detained on Sunday 70 Palestinian workers packed in a refrigerator truck and heading to Israel seeking work.
Israeli sources reported that the workers and the truck driver reportedly from Abu Gush Jerusalem town, were detained for interrogation.
Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Palestinian workers were sent back to the West Bank.
It added that Israeli Border Guards stopped the truck while it was driving on a major Highway, knows as Highway 6.
Border Guard Unit Chief, Yossi Frienti, told the Israeli paper that the soldiers we shocked to find so many people packed in a refrigeration truck.
He said that the sight was inhumane, and that ‘even animals should not be transported like that.
The workers, seeking day labor in Israel, were loaded onto the truck in Shufat town, north of Jerusalem, and the truck driver was taking them to Wadi Ara area, north of the country.
The Maan News Agency reported that the truck driver was fined 250-300 Israeli Shekels (nearly 80 US Dollars), for each passenger.
