The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission of the Palestinian Authority called, on Monday, for a day of rage in solidarity with hunger-striking Palestinian detainees held in Israeli jails.

The commission called for mass rallies and a day of rage across the West Bank, on Tuesday, in support of Mohammad and Mahmoud Balboul and Malik Qadi, who have been on hunger strike for over 70 days, in protest against detention without charge or trial (administrative detention).

“The situation is no longer tolerable,” said the commission, in a press release, according to WAFA. “The hunger striking detainees are dying slowly, which calls for immediate intervention to save their lives,” it said.

According to the organization, some 120 Palestinian detainees have, so far, joined the Balboul brothers and Qadi in their hunger strike.

It additionally reported that all Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have decided to refuse their daily meals on Tuesday, to express their anger with Israel’s disregard to the lives of the hunger strikers.
